My wife and I have been seriously looking into Israeli citizenship because of my family roots, but the thing is — we’re not planning to relocate anytime soon. I keep seeing mixed info online: some say you have to live there full time, others say you don’t. We have careers here and two kids in school, so moving now just isn't realistic. I think someone here mentioned they got citizenship without making the move. Is that even possible????

In my opinion, this is one of the most flexible systems out there. You get access to all the benefits — like healthcare, visa-free travel, and the right to live or work in Israel — without needing to uproot your life. It’s especially useful for people with international careers or families settled elsewhere. As long as you're honest and organized with your documents, the process can be pretty straightforward.
I was in the exact same boat last year. I’ve got strong family ties to Israel, but my work and life are based in Europe. I went through the full process and got citizenship without ever relocating. The info at https://welcome-israel.com/israeli-citizenship/israeli-citizenship-without-residency helped me understand every step. The key is proving Jewish ancestry and completing the interview with the Jewish Agency. After that, you can enter the country once and get your status — no need to stay long term.
